The molten material quickly cooled down forming what we now know as Parícutin Volcano. As time passed by it continued to grow taller and wider creating its iconic shape – seen today as one of America’s most prominent volcanoes.

The eruption activity started off slow but eventually increased over time with intense periods where clouds of ash erupted up to 6km high along with loud noises like thunder or gunshot sounds being heard during some eruptions.
