Manly Beach

1) Manly Beach

Manly Beach is a beach in Sydney that is located at the foot of cliffs on the northern headland of Sydney Harbor. The water can be rough in some areas so please use caution when entering the water. There is so much to do nearby.

The beach is about a kilometer long and has a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby. There is also a nice park next to the beach where you can relax in the shade or have a picnic.

If you are looking for a good surf spot, Manly Beach is definitely worth checking out. The waves here can get up to six feet high and the beach is usually pretty crowded.

If you do visit Manly Beach, be sure to check out the famous Manly Ferry. This ferry takes about 30 minutes to cross Sydney Harbor and provides some great views of the city.

 

Bondi Beach

You will not be short of activities to try out here.

It is a secluded beach located in Manly that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing. It’s one of my favorite Sydney beaches because it’s not as crowded as some of the other beaches and the water is crystal clear.

The beach is also home to a popular surf break, so it’s a great place to catch some waves. If you’re looking for a peaceful beach to relax on, Freshwater is definitely worth checking out.

 

Cronulla Beach

4) Cronulla Beach

It is located in the city of Cronulla which is about 25 minutes south of Sydney CBD. The beach has a unique shape and its shoreline is quite rocky with many inlets and bays.

The beach is patrolled by lifeguards and is a popular spot for surfing. Cronulla Beach also has a good reputation for its cleanliness.

The northern end of the beach is known as “The Point” and is a popular spot for fishing. The southern end of the beach is home to Shark Island, which can be seen from the Cronulla to Bundeena ferry. It is popular for swimming and snorkeling.

Malabar beach in southern Sydney is a small, hidden gem. The sand is white and free from shells. The water is shallow and crystal clear. A nearby jetty means you’ll have plenty of room to enjoy the surf without being in anyone else’s way.

The water can be great for swimming in summer with its warm 26-degree temperature, but there might be a few jellyfish around so beware! For the more adventurous, Malabar is a place where you can go diving or snorkeling with some great fishing too. There are also some large rock pools to explore that are filled with marine creatures which can be fun for any kids who happen to be with you.

There is plenty of parking at the side or on top of upper Avalon Hill. The walk down to the beach can be steep for some people, but it’s worth descending just for the views.

Avalon is very popular for fishing, and you can see people swimming here during the summer months as well as surfing.

Bilgola Beach

It’s also a great spot for fishing with some good catches of whiting being recorded here in the past. Bilgola is one of Sydney’s best beaches to catch some waves! When you arrive at this destination, you’ll need to park your car or motorcycle in the allocated parking space before accessing the beach by foot or alternatively by bicycle.

The beach itself is a sheltered bay that has been formed by the Newport sandbar which runs from South Head to Barrenjoey. Thus, this means that you can easily access it on foot via the surf beach at Marine Parade or alternatively catch public transport to get there.
